Configuring a Workflow's Final Response

The Final Response is the last step of every workflow and defines what Victoria will say when the workflow is completed.

May 1, 2025

The Final Response is the last step of every workflow and defines what Victoria will say when the workflow is completed. It lets you customize the text response, whether it's a simple confirmation or a detailed report. This response is always used when running workflows via chat, but not when running via scheduled triggers.

What Is the Final Response?

At the bottom of every workflow, after the trigger and any agents you’ve added, you'll find the Final Response node. This special node determines what Victoria will say back to you once the workflow has finished running.

Even if your workflow produces outputs like documents, emails, or external actions through agents, Victoria will always provide a text response when the workflow is triggered via chat. The Final Response allows you to fully control and customize this message.

How to Configure the Final Response

The Final Response has a simple, editable text field. You can write anything here to define what Victoria should say when the workflow is completed.

Examples

  • Simple confirmation:

"Your workflow has been completed successfully."

  • Summary or report:

"The project brief has been created and sent to Slack. The invoice was generated in QuickBooks."

  • Analysis:

"The financial report shows a 12% increase in revenue compared to last month. Key insights have been emailed to your team."

Scheduled Triggers and Final Response

If your workflow runs on a Schedule Trigger, no text response will be sent when the workflow runs automatically. However, it is still recommended to configure the Final Response because:

  • Any workflow can also be called manually via chat.
  • When triggered manually, Victoria will use the Final Response to provide a clear summary of the workflow outcome.

Why Use the Final Response?

The Final Response ensures that:

  • Users always receive clear feedback when running workflows via chat.
  • Important outcomes, summaries, or insights can be delivered conversationally.
  • Workflows feel complete and easy to follow, even when complex actions happen in the background.

By configuring this response thoughtfully, you create a more user-friendly and informative experience for yourself and your team.
