A segment is your market, described once, and Pulse keeps adding the companies that match. You set the criteria (industry, size, tools, pricing model, hiring, or any attribute on the record), and with auto-fill on, new matches are added overnight. A list is a fixed set of companies you pick from a segment or a search. Before you create a watch, Pulse tests it against past data to show how often it would have alerted.

In Pulse, a buying signal tells you a company has a reason to hear from you now, like a jump in hiring or new positioning. Pulse scores its strength from 0 to 1 for how well the evidence matches; use it to rank signals, not to predict a deal. Each signal has a start date and an end date, and you decide which signals matter.
